On the 14th–15th of October 2011 6th Congress of Latvian Gynaecologists and Obstetricians and the 4rd Joint RCOG/LAGO Conference Eurovision organized by The Latvian Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (LAGO) in collaboration with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) were held in Riga. The aim of the congress and conference was the improvement of women’s’ health in Latvia. About 500 of clinicians took part in this congress/conference.

On the 13th of October workshops organized by the RCOG was held on the following topic:”Maximizing Results in Infertility Treatment Modalities” organized by European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Baltic group and the RCOG.

On the 14th of October congress/conference session was held within the framework of infertility problems organized by The Group of Human Reproduction specialists and Embryologists of the Latvian Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians. President of The Group of Human Reproduction specialists and Embryologists of the Latvian Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians Valeria Godunova and professor Svetlana Kalinchenko were the session’s chairs. Male infertility was the main topic.

Invited speaker from Moscow Svetlana Kalinchenko - PhD, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Chief of Endocrinology Department of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, endocrinologist-andrologist presented a very interesting and topical presentations “Male infertility in XXI century – diagnosis and treatment”. Latvian colleges also gave their oral presentations: “New Diagnostic Aspects of Tubal Infertility: Role of Chlamydia trachomatis Antibodies”, “Chromosomal Changes in Case of Reproductive Function Disturbances”, “Premature Ovarian Failure and Infertility”.

Clinicians from “Clinic Your Doctors” took part in workshop and congress/conference, discussed actual problems of infertility and shared their experience with other colleges. V. Godunova with the group of authors presented the clinical case.
